Purchased in 2016 by a young New York couple, a 19th Century Bellport Long Island sea captain’s house, Valentin transformed the interior spaces. The idea was to depart from the typical New England interior and balance the house’s architecture with 20th Century design. Combing Shaker elements with Mid-20th Century designers including Charlotte Perriand and Alvar Aalto, Valentin developed a singular home that, through elemental and organic furniture and decorative objects, came to be referred to as "Flintstone Chic” and "Mid-Century Shaker.”   Photography by Jonathan Hökklo for Remodelista
